Our Story

no nonsense bodycare was founded by a group of ordinary people that share a real passion for natural, organic, fair trade products. We try to eat organic food and we try to buy it locally, and ethically. We know the benefits of cutting out chemicals from our diet and eating unprocessed foods. It was all of a sudden that we realised: our daily routine of showering and moisturizing was nothing less than a chemical assault on our skin and our bodies. Couldn’t we cut out the chemicals from our body care, just as we have from our food? We started looking for products that are really 100% free from synthetic ingredients. Free from parabens, sls, toxins and chemicals. We wanted natural, organic, and fair trade. We wanted no nonsense. After spending lots of money on so-called ‘natural’ products, only to find a list of toxic chemicals on the ingredients lists, we eventually got fed up with trying to work out who to trust. So we started making our own skincare products at home, using ordinary natural ingredients like eggs, avocado, olive oil and yogurt, to make all sorts of wonderful nutritious concoctions for our skin and hair. And as we got more interested, we started learning how to make our own natural soaps and shampoos, eventually reaching our goal of a completely chemical-free body care regime. We felt liberated. And more importantly, we all noticed a significant improvement in the quality of our skin and hair. Sore, irritated skin became smooth and supple; greasy, blotchy skin became clear and silky; dry, frizzy hair became soft and floaty; and horrible eruptions across the back of the shoulders faded away, no longer forced to suffer attack from the toxic substances found in most shampoos. This is just our experience. But we began to wonder whether other people were also looking for no nonsense body care products. Like all the best ideas, it seemed ridiculously simple: honest, straight-up products that serve a genuine purpose, with none of the pretentiousness of the major cosmetics retailers, and 100% natural, organic and fair trade.
